Mayor and City Council Positions Up for Election in November 2020
REDMOND, OR – The City of Redmond has three open City Council seats and the position of Mayor on the upcoming general election ballot. Terms begin January 2021. Interested in running? Candidate election packets are available online or from the City Recorder’s office by appointment, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Deadline for filing required forms is August 25, 2020.
All prospective candidates must be 18 years of age, must be registered electors and must be a resident of the City of Redmond at least one year prior to the date of the election. Candidates should deliver their completed SEL101, Qualified Elector/Residency Certification, and $25 filing fee in person to the City Recorder during business hours.
The City of Redmond has a Council / Manager form of government. The Council consists of six members serving 4-year terms, and a Mayor serving a 2-year term. The City Manager serves at the pleasure of the Council. The Council members act as the policy makers, as required by council/manager form of government set forth in the Oregon Revised Statutes. The City Manager's staff turns these objectives into programs actions.
